I am a dedicated counsellor and psychotherapist. I offer a confidential, safe and welcoming therapeutic space to explore your current challenges. I believe each person is profoundly unique and of eternal value. As a therapist, I am privileged to support my clients in exploring their challenges and facilitating growth and change.
My therapeutic approach is integrative, which allows me to adapt the counselling process in a manner that best serves you and your needs. I offer compassionate and evidence-based counselling across a range of mental health challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, stress and relationships.
I am committed to ongoing professional development to continually refine my therapeutic skills and competencies. As such, I am currently pursuing a certificate in gambling addiction and recovery.
Over the last three years I have gained valuable experience working with clients from various backgrounds and presenting with differing challenges and issues. In Laois Play Therapy I worked with adult clients privately, helping to navigate challenging family dynamics at home. When working with clients in Cuan Mhuire, a residential addiction treatment centre, I learned about the complexity of addiction from clients who were living through it, and developed ways to cope and create sustainable supports. Additionally, I gained further counselling experience with clients in MyMove Counselling Centre, here I worked with clients struggling with addiction as well as multiple other challenges outside of addiction. These experiences afforded me the opportunity to counsel and support individuals with various issues in life.
My approach in counselling is integrative. Meaning that I integrate multiple counselling techniques and skills that will best support you. As I see each person as being unique, I do not believe there is a "one size fits all" approach to therapy. I integrate and employ person-centred therapy, CBT and parts of existential therapy, Internal Family Systems and Transactional analysis. We work together through these approaches in a manner that will serve you most.
I have achieved a bachelors degree in Liberal Arts from Mary Immaculate College, a level 8 degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the Irish College of Humanities and Applied Sciences and I am currently pursuing a level 9 certificate in Gambling addiction.
